A blind and deaf dog finds a missing child by doing the unthinkable

Heroes don’t always wear capes. They come in many shapes and sizes that we are not used to. Superman might be covered in spandex or wear a cape but dogs don’t. Multiple times, animals have proven that they are heroes. Australia’s latest example is the story of a blind and deaf dog who found a missing child.

Max, a 17 year old Blue Heeler mix, was the true hero of the story. After locating a 3-year-old missing child, Max the dog did something that even police could not do.

Max the Hero

Max is already several years ahead of his expected life expectancy. Blue Heeler Mix Max is blind and deaf, but that doesn’t stop him from enjoying the outdoors. He walks away from his home every day and then returns. Max lives in Queensland, Australia with his family, which includes a 3-year-old girl who loves him dearly.

The girl went off into the woods one day and never returned. Her parents Max and her sister stayed worried for hours. They set up a search party and informed the police. Aurora was never found. Aurora was not found by more than 100 people.

They were close to breaking point when Aurora’s grandmother heard faint cries from the distance. Max was standing on a hill when she saw her. The blind and deaf dog led her grandma to Aurora who was thankfully safe. After a medical checkup, she was unharmed.

He kept the girl warm

Apart from Max finding the girl, he was there to keep her company and keep warm over night. Max only left her to guide her grandmother to the spot. Max was awarded a badge of police and plenty of snacks for his efforts.

The local police shared the news via Twitter. It went viral quickly, just as it should. This is yet another example of how dogs will do whatever it takes to save their family members. This video shows Max’s bravery.
